JSON (2 objects)
Your files are processed on your device and never sent to a server.
How to use CSV to JSON
Paste your CSV into the left box, or click "Open CSV file".
Set the separator (Auto works for most files), the output shape and the indent. Keep "First row has column names" ticked if it does.
Copy the JSON or click "Download .json".
When to use CSV to JSON
- Developers. Turn spreadsheet data into JSON for an API, a test fixture or a config file.
- No-code tools. Many automation tools and website builders import JSON.
- Charts and maps. JavaScript charting libraries usually expect JSON arrays.
Limits and privacy
- Files up to 25MB. The JSON updates instantly while you edit the CSV.
- Values with a leading zero (like 0613) stay as text so codes are not changed.
- Your data is converted in your browser and not sent to a server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CSV to JSON?
Paste the CSV or open the file. With "First row has column names" ticked, each row becomes an object whose keys are the column names, inside one array. Copy the result or download it as data.json. Switch the output to "Array of arrays" if you want plain rows instead.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes, when "Detect numbers, true/false and empty values" is ticked: 42 becomes a number, true becomes a boolean and empty cells become null. Values with a leading zero, such as PIN codes or phone numbers, and very long numbers stay as text. Untick the option to keep every value as text.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The conversion happens in your browser as you type. Nothing is sent to a server.
