How to resize your RRB photo and signature
Choose what you are preparing (for example "Photo"). The size and KB limits are already set for RRB; change them if your notification differs.
Click "Choose your photo" (or "Choose your signature") and pick a clear photo or scan. Move the box so it frames your face or your signature.
Click "Make photo", check the green tick for the KB range, then download the file and upload it on the RRB portal.
When to use the RRB resizer
- RRB NTPC and Group D. Prepare the photo and signature before the application window opens.
- ALP and Technician. The same photo and signature rules generally apply.
- Modification windows. Fix a rejected photo or signature quickly when the correction window opens.
Before you upload: check the RRB notification
These are the sizes the tool is preset to for Railway Recruitment Boards (NTPC, Group D, ALP, Technician). They come from recent notifications as reported by several sources, which do not always agree. Always confirm them in the official notification on www.rrbapply.gov.in before you upload, and change the numbers in the tool if yours are different.
- Photo: JPG, 20 to 50 KB, 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
- Signature: JPG, 10 to 40 KB, 3.5 x 1.5 cm.
- Railway forms usually want a recent colour passport photo (taken within 6 months) on a white background, and a signature in running handwriting.
- Published guides disagree on the exact pixel sizes, and the portal checks both pixels and KB. Use the numbers shown on the upload screen if they differ.
Limits and privacy
- One image at a time, 25MB each. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF.
- Output is always JPG (JPEG), the format exam portals accept.
- Each upload type keeps its own photo and settings, so you can prepare all of them on one page and download them one by one.
- Your photo and signature are processed in your browser and never sent to BA Convert.
Frequently asked questions
What is the RRB photo size in KB?
Railway forms have asked for a recent colour passport photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm) on a white background, commonly 20 KB to 50 KB in JPG, though some guides mention up to 70 KB. The preset here makes a 276 x 354 pixel photo inside 20 to 50 KB. Check your CEN notice and change the numbers if needed.
What is the RRB signature size?
The signature has usually been a 3.5 x 1.5 cm strip in JPG between 10 KB and 40 KB, signed in running handwriting with black ink. The preset makes a 276 x 118 pixel image in that range and can make the paper white and the ink darker.
Why was my RRB photo rejected?
RRB portals check both pixels and file size. Photos are also rejected for being older than six months, having a coloured or busy background, or showing caps or dark glasses. Signatures in capital letters are rejected too.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. Choose the photo from your gallery, frame it, tap "Make photo" and download. Do the same for your signature photographed on white paper. Everything stays on your phone until you upload it on the RRB portal.
