Password Generator
This password generator creates strong random passwords of 6 to 64 characters, or memorable passphrases, using your browser's cryptographic random generator, with a strength meter based on real entropy.
Choose at least one character type
Generated with your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Nothing is sent or stored.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.
How to use Password Generator
Choose "Random password" or "Passphrase (words)".
Set the length and the character types (or the number of words); look-alike characters can be left out.

When to use Password Generator
- New accounts. A unique password for every site, so one leak cannot unlock the others.
- WiFi and router passwords. Long passwords without confusing characters.
- Master passwords. A passphrase that is strong and still easy to remember.
Limits and privacy
- Passwords are generated with crypto.getRandomValues and unbiased sampling, never Math.random.
- Nothing is sent or saved. Copy the password before leaving the page.
Frequently asked questions
Is this password generator safe?
Yes. Passwords are created in your browser with crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographic random number generator built into modern browsers, using unbiased sampling. They are never sent over the internet or stored, and the page works even offline once loaded.
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters for normal accounts, and 16 or more for email, banking and anything important. Length matters more than complexity: a 16-character random password has around 100 bits of entropy, which is far beyond what attackers can guess. Use a different password for every site.
Are passwords stored?
No. The generated password exists only on your screen until you copy it. BA Convert has no account system and no way to see it. Store your passwords in a password manager such as Bitwarden, 1Password or the one built into your browser or phone.
What is a passphrase?
A passphrase is several random words joined together, such as Lamp-Velvet-Harbor-Quiz-42. Five random words from a 512-word list give about 45 bits, and six or seven give over 55, while being much easier to type and remember than random symbols. They are ideal for master passwords.
