Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate percentage of marks?
Add up the marks you got in all subjects, divide by the total maximum marks, and multiply by 100. For example, 255 out of 300 is 255 ÷ 300 × 100 = 85%. In the marks box, enter each subject's marks and maximum, and the overall percentage updates automatically.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
It depends on your board or university. CBSE uses CGPA × 9.5, so 8.4 CGPA is 79.8%. Anna University uses CGPA × 10, and VTU uses (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Choose the formula in the CGPA box, and confirm with the formula printed on your mark sheet or in your university's regulations.
How do I calculate percentage increase?
Subtract the old value from the new one, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. A salary going from ₹40,000 to ₹46,000 is a (6,000 ÷ 40,000) × 100 = 15% increase. The calculator also shows decreases with a clear "Decrease" label.
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it. 30% off ₹2,499 saves ₹749.70, so you pay ₹1,749.30. Type the price and discount in the discount box to see both numbers.
