Frequently asked questions
How do I make a photo black and white?
Add your photo and click the "Black and white" preset (it is selected by default). Drag the comparison slider to see the before and after, then click Apply and download. For a punchier look, try "High-contrast B&W", or raise the Contrast slider.
What is the difference between grayscale and sepia?
Grayscale removes all colour and keeps only light and dark, giving a neutral black and white image. Sepia replaces the colours with warm brown tones, like old photographs. You can mix them with the two sliders, for example 100% black and white plus 30% sepia for a subtle warm tone.
Can I undo an effect?
Yes. Nothing is changed until you click Apply, and even then your original file stays untouched on your device. Click "Reset (undo all effects)" to return every slider to neutral and start again.
Can I apply an effect to many photos?
Yes. Add up to 50 photos and the same effect settings are applied to all of them. Use "Download all as ZIP" to save them together.
Are my photos sent to a server?
No. The effects are applied in your browser and your photos stay on your device.
