How to use TIFF to JPG

When to use TIFF to JPG

  • Scanned documents. Office scanners often save multi-page TIFF files that phones and forms cannot open.
  • Uploading to portals. Government and bank portals accept JPG or PDF, not TIFF.
  • Photos from cameras and design software. TIFF files are large; JPG is much smaller for sharing.

Limits and privacy

  • Up to 20 files at once, 50MB each. TIFF, TIF.
  • Built-in decoder supports uncompressed, LZW, PackBits and Deflate TIFFs in 1, 4, 8 and 16 bits, grayscale, palette, RGB and RGBA.
  • CCITT fax-compressed and JPEG-compressed TIFFs are not supported yet; you will see a clear message. Safari can often open those itself.
  • Files are decoded in your browser and never sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open TIFF files in Chrome?

Chrome and Edge cannot display TIFF images on their own, which is why many online converters fail on Windows. This tool includes its own TIFF decoder, so the conversion works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. After converting, the JPG opens anywhere.

How do I convert a multi-page TIFF?

Add the file and click Convert. Every page is converted to its own JPG, shown as Page 1, Page 2 and so on. Download pages one by one, use "Download all as ZIP", or click "Save all pages as one PDF" to keep the document together.

Will I lose quality?

TIFF is usually uncompressed or lossless, and JPG is lossy, so a little detail is lost. At 90% quality scanned text and photos look the same at normal size, and the file is often 10 to 20 times smaller. For a lossless copy, use TIFF to PNG.

Can I convert many TIFF files?

Yes. Add up to 20 TIFF files at once, up to 50MB each. Multi-page files count as one file but produce one JPG per page.
