Frequently asked questions
Does it support tables?
Yes. GitHub-style tables with a header row and a --- separator line are converted to <table> HTML, including left, centre and right alignment set with colons (:---, :---:, ---:). Task lists (- [ ] and - [x]), fenced code blocks and ~~strikethrough~~ work too.
Is the HTML safe to paste into WordPress?
Yes. Text is escaped, so characters like < and & appear correctly, and raw HTML in the Markdown is not passed through unless you tick the option to keep it. Paste the result into the WordPress Code editor or a Custom HTML block.
What is Markdown?
Markdown is a simple way of formatting text with symbols: # for headings, **bold**, *italic*, - for lists and [text](link) for links. It is used on GitHub, Reddit, Discord, Notion and many documentation sites because it is easy to read even before it is converted.
