How to Make a UPI QR Code for Your Shop

By Betsan · Updated 15 October 2026 · 3 min read

A printed UPI QR code at the counter lets customers pay with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or any bank app. You can make one in a minute from your UPI ID, without signing up anywhere.

Open UPI QR Code Generator →UPI QR with amount and a printable shop card. Free, files stay on your device.

Make the QR code

  1. Find your UPI ID in your UPI app, for example name@okaxis or 98xxxxxx@ybl.
  2. Open the UPI QR Code Generator and enter the UPI ID and your shop name.
  3. Leave the amount empty for a counter QR, so customers type the bill amount.
  4. Scan the preview with your own UPI app: it should show your name. Then download the A6 stand card as PDF and print it.

Tips for the counter

  • Print at least 5 cm wide and laminate it, so it survives rain and cleaning.
  • Place it where customers can scan without leaning over the counter.
  • Check the payment arrived in your app before handing over goods. Do not rely on a screenshot from the customer.
  • If you want a voice alert for each payment, ask your bank or payment app about a merchant QR with a soundbox.

Fixed amount QR codes

For a fixed price, such as tuition fees or a ticket, enter the amount so it is filled in automatically. Some apps show a caution for personal UPI IDs with a pre-filled amount; the payment still works.

Frequently asked questions

Is a UPI QR from a website safe?

Yes, if you check it. The QR only contains your UPI ID, name and optional amount, and money can only be sent to you. Always test-scan it before printing.

Can someone misuse my UPI QR?

They can only pay you. A common scam works the other way: someone sends you a QR and asks you to scan it and enter your PIN to "receive" money. You never need your PIN to receive money.
